Description of C (programming language):
C is a general-purpose, procedural programming language developed in 1972 by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs. It is widely used for developing operating systems, system software, and embedded applications because it provides fast execution and direct access to computer memory. C has a simple syntax and powerful features such as pointers, functions, and structured programming, which make it efficient for writing complex programs. Due to its portability and performance, C became one of the most influential programming languages and served as the foundation for many later languages like C++ and Java.
